The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
programmers write VistA in Standard MUMPS (or M) following a document
that that sets standards for usability, manageability, and readability.
This document is called the VA Programming Standards and
Conventions document (or SAC). Any programmer wishing to
modify, further develop, or even understand the VistA software should
become very familiar with this document. Here
is the current draft of that document in use within the VA. |
You might want to visit the VistA
& CPRS Demo web site that was recently set up by the VA.
